Bespoke begins with you.
Custom begins with something we’ve already made.
Both allow a piece of jewelry to become more personal. The difference is where the process begins.
What is bespoke jewelry?
Bespoke jewelry is designed from the beginning for one person.
You might arrive with a clear idea, an image, a stone, a memory, a person in mind – or sometimes simply a feeling you want the piece to hold.
From there, we begin exploring.
There may be drawings, carved waxes, conversations and changes of direction. A drawing can become a wax, a wax can lead us back to drawing, and details may be added and removed along the way.
The final piece does not exist before that process begins.
It emerges from it.
What is custom jewelry?
Custom jewelry begins with an existing design.
The form remains recognizable, but certain details can be changed to make the piece more personal.
That might mean choosing a different stone or metal, changing a finish, adding an engraving, or adapting another detail of a piece you already love.
Instead of beginning again, custom allows you to make an existing design more your own.
Bespoke vs custom jewelry
The simplest way we think about it is:
Bespoke: something of yours, made physical.
Custom: something of ours, made yours.
Neither is inherently more meaningful than the other.
Sometimes you find a piece you love and only want to change one detail.
Sometimes the piece you are looking for does not exist yet.
Which should you choose?
Custom may make sense if you already love an existing piece but would like to personalize it through its materials, stones or details.
Bespoke may be the better path when what you have in mind cannot quite be found — or when the meaning behind the piece is where you want the design process to begin.
Both can be made for yourself or for someone else.
The important part is that the finished piece feels personal to the person who will ultimately wear it.

Depending on the design, certain pieces may be customized through choices such as stones, metals, finishes or other details.
